I like Gayle too, except I'm not sure if she would fit in quite as well as Whoopie. Since they have never replaced Star, they could use them both.

She is on today (Wed. June 20th)... I didn't catch who she was at first.. But she does seem to fit in very well.. I like her

Her voice sounds alot like Oprah's..
( I know they are old buddies and both were probably voice trained for television work. ) But the depth of the voice is very similar too..

I haven't seen today's show yet. I watch at night.

I do like Gayle. I think that if Gayle wants the position, she will get it. You know what I mean. I think Oprah has tremendous power.

Did you see the guest host from yesterday? I can't recall her full name, but her first name was Star. LOL. Seriously. She is an African American who calls herself a conservative Republican. It was very odd. Elisabeth kept trying to be the mediator with this lady.
I'm not sure what her credentials are, but I wasn't impressed with her. Of course she has a right to speak her mind, but it was just kinda strange IMO.

A few times Barbara gave her an ugly look. I think Barbara's patience is getting thin lately. LOL.

I think Gayle would be good on several fronts..

She's been a host before... I don't think Barbara has been gone a day since Rosie left... She's had to head up the panel..

I've only been catching snatches of the show lately. Which was true even when Rosie was on..

But Gayle used to have her own talk show.. and she's confident, intelligent and personable. I think she'd be great to fill in the main seat..

BTW, I think this might be the last week of the season..
I wonder what they'll do for reruns over the summer? I don't remember what they did last year.. after Star left on the bad/controversial note.

Gayle was on The View yesterday. She did a great job and I now suspect she is trying to get Rosie's position. I think it just might work.

She and Oprah do have so many similar mannerisms. When I used to hang out with some of my very close friends all the time, I found myself saying things the way they did or using similar phrases. It made me feel odd.

I'm now thinking Gayle may be a better choice than Whoopie, although both of them would be really great.

I got a great impression of Gayle from that last show.. (the same one you saw Debby)...

I'm watching Headline News Primetime / 'Showbiz tonight' on cable tonight.. They are hinting at a story that the next View cohost could be a male....

I wonder when they will announce it...

If they mention any names being tossed about regarding possible male cohosts... I'll add those..

They are mentioning Mario Cantone and Ross the Intern.. (both gay...) They apparently may be having guest hosting roles next month.. and alot could depend on that.

One commentator was saying they doubted they go that way...

It was a long segment where the pros and cons and possibilities were discussed.

I find it interesting that Ross is hoping to be working with Rosie on a project but his name is being tossed around for The View... Wouldn't that irk Rosie to no end?

I doubt they go with a man..
