Since Barbara was not on the panel yesterday, the girls used the opportunity to banter a little. I think the spat was planned. Rosie commented that she had won Homecoming queen in high school and Joy asked what the criteria was, looks for example. Rosie appeared insulted and said that it was not Elisabeth that she had a problem with, but Joy. Joy tried to explain that she wasn't inferring that Rosie was not attractive in high school but that sometimes girls win out for things like that based on sense of humor.
Rosie never did act convinced and later said that she now missed Star Jones. The whole panel laughed and I didn't take it seriously.

I guess we'll see what comes from it. The fact that most viewers expected sparks to fly between Rosie and the panel and that that has not happened may be perceived as a let down by the producers of the show. I think they want to throw a little fuel on the thing to keep it exciting.

There has been a big change in Elisabeth since she took her baby to Rosie's house for a play date. She was very complementary of Rosie's children and their home as a whole. I think it may have shaken some core beliefs in Elisabeth as to what consitutes a real family. I think her conventional notions of what that means may have been brought into question. She seems to be slanting more left these days. An entire week went by with no praise for the Bush administration. I think she has resigned as president of the George Bush fan club. I am astounded.

I think there may have been some sort of carryover to todays show. Barbara was back on the panel... and I don't know if it was just in response to some viewers response about the show.. They seemed to imply that it was all just friendly banter..

I didn't see yesterday's show so cannot really be sure. But when I was watching today.. I tuned in while they were discussing some sort of carryover event..and only put 2 and 2 together based on the info here..

But from what you say Debby, I can understand how Rosie might have been a bit offended at the 'criteria' remark.

I think making a comment about Star Jones was probably inappropriate though... and Joy could have been equally offended at that. Was it all kidding? I think we all have moments of 'foot in mouth' disease! Hopefully they put it behind them or really were just horsing around!

I agree with you Debby. It all seemed very set-up and light-hearted...............I thought it was funny and didn't see any meanness. And remember...........I'm not even a Joy fan!!!!

They really do seem to like each other and get along well. The show is certainly much more enjoyable now with Rosie and her personality and flair like her old show. I'm finding I'm really enjoying the show again!

I really love the changes on the VIEW, I do miss Meredith,but the show is certainly not lacking in anyway. I enjoy the banter amongst the women.....Thank goodness they are mature and secure enough to not take themselves or each other too seriously!

Hot topics became very heated today, and very interesting. Elizabeth has some very strong and oposing opinions, and seemed to be in over her head.

Rosie had an idea of extending the hot topics segment... I think it's a great idea... it's my favorite part of the show.

I agree with you and Rosie, I would love to see Hot Topics extended. I also agree with you about Elizabeth...when it comes to politics, she is in WAY Over Her Head! I enjoy the political debate during this program......Power TO the WOMEN!!!
