I just noticed today when watching the view that the couch IS facing the camera, with the audience in the background. On a few occasions, Rosie actually turned around to talk to the audience. It was really akward looking. She even made a comment to the guest, (who was a Broadway performer) that this set up "goes against all they're used to doing" or something to that effect, meaning not to face the audience goes against a performer's grain.
I just thought it was really strange and I hope it's only a temporary situation because of the segment attached to it.
Rosie used to bug me and I thought I wouldn't watch the show anymore but she is really doing a great job, I think.
