New season starts this next Monday night on TLC.

I saw a preview of the show. When I saw it, I remembered Matt was supposed to go to court this month sometime. I think later in the month though.. Looks like some of the usual family issues arise while they are on vacation. Boys rough housing and fighting. It also looked like they were showing some highlights of another LPA convention. I know they have annual ones.. I think there are also regional and National ones.. This looked like it might be the big annual one.

I have been a big fan of the show since it came on the air. Over time I must admit I grew frustrated with certain aspects of the family. I realize nobody is perfect, but, the kids acting so disrepectful to their parents, the mother being so disrespecful to her husband and the filthy house, just got on my last nerve.

I intend to keep watching. If things continue, I may have to give the show a rest.

I won't let Matt's DUI keep me from watching.

I missed the first new season episode, but I did see it this past Monday night. They were at the Grand Canyon and went out on the new skywalk that we discussed on this board a few months ago.
Matt is afraid of heights and he was not too happy with the Skywalk. LOL. Amy loved it. She was pretty happy and I heard no complaining. WOW. Maybe this season is going to be great.

I must say that all that footage of the Grand Canyon really made me want to go so bad.

Debby, You missed a couple episodes.. They seem to make them 30 minute episodes and do 2 back to back each week.
The first episode was the end of the boys high school year.. The school must have finally agreed to let cameras in there.. At first I thought they might have been in public high school as it looked like one! It showed the boys taking final exams in a subject.. Math I think... They both did poorly and had to go to summer school. They were the only 2 in it! They showed part of one session of summer school..

During the episode part at the high school and the final exams.. They showed Jeremy repeatedly doing things he shouldn't have been. The teacher had to talk to him several times.. Then during the exam he was clearly trying to look on Zach's paper.. and trying to ask questions during the taking of the test..

The road trip is a zoo.. The boys are out of control.. Zach and Jacob are always physically at it and verbally disrespectful of everyone.. Jacob is getting worse and worse.. Jeremy is along for the ride.. I don't see him really interact with anyone else in the family unless he has to.

I find it laughable that Matt could pen a book about family values.. I think it's called Little Family, Big Values..

Here is a link about it ... Not sure if it's available anywhere beside the Discovery store..

I know no family is perfect.. but this family has issues that should be addressed by serious professionals..

Not sure if you saw the part of the show the other night when Amy and Molly went to a spa for the day together and the guys were on their own. Jacob was totally disobedient and Matt didn't do anything to crack down on him... Oh yeah he wouldn't let him ride his bike into town.. But then offered him a ride on his scooter.. to which Jacob replied "Why would I want to ride with you" in a very nasty tone..

If they want to salvage these kids (especially the boys).. they should yank this show...and get into some counseling.. There are more important things than money..

Amy and Matt both have issues.. But i totally understand Matt's dislike of heights... I'm on the same page... I'd get the willie's at Skywalk and know I couldn't do it.. and also at Hoover Dam.. Just having any of my kids lean over would be enough to freak me out..

LOL!

I can definitely sympathize.. He tries his hardest to overcome it as an example to his kids though.. But I truly understand the battle.
